There are many different types of obstructions in drains and sewers
encountered by our clients. These are above and beyond the dirt and
debris that are always present in the sewer.
The removal of these obstructions is a core part of the work we
undertake either as a standalone repair or as a necessary first step in
pipe rehabilitation work.
We have the most technologically advanced equipment, and skills to
ensure a speedy and cost efficient process. Our robotic cutting services
have saved our clients thousands of pounds by remotely cutting out
obstructions and repairing defects in pipes, thus avoiding the excessive
cost of excavations. |

The remotely controlled
HydroCut robotic cutter with a 7.3 hp high pressure water turbine motor,
water-cooled to prevent overheating and increasing reliability, spins
the cutting head at 30,000 rpm. The motor is designed with minimal wear
parts for dependability and its diamond-impregnated, hardened-steel
cutting bits will cut through most materials including roots, grout,
concrete, steel rebar and most other obstructions in pipe diameters from
4 to 24 inches.
Twin onboard cameras eliminate the need for auxiliary CCTV
inspection equipment and rinse nozzles clean cutting debris off the
lenses to enable the operator to have a clear view of the cutting
process. |

After a sewer has been
relined, a critical part of rehabilitation is the reconnection of the
laterals. Our remotely-controlled HydroCut robotic unit is used to
reinstate the lateral connections in the relined pipe. Its function is
straight-forward: the robot cutter unit is inserted into the pipe and
advanced toward the lateral connection (located via a coordinated
measurement). The cutter makes an initial hole to relieve any flow that
may have accumulated in the lateral before removing the remainder of the
lining material from the lateral, opening and restoring the connection. |
